They enjoyed discussing art then ultimately returned to the wine, when they began to seriously consider the idea of making their own special varietal.

Several years of study, careful nurturing of the vines and selectively harvesting only the finest estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, has resulted in introducing Abstract Sensualism® Cabernet Sauvignon as a sublime experience.

Christopher DeRubeis is a man driven by his passion for creating visual and ethereal experiences for his collectors, whether that be via the artist’s palette or the taste palate of the sommelier.
A world traveler, renowned artist, and creative, one of his most serious lifelong passions has been an obsession with fine wines.
A born creative, DeRubeis is known for his artistic explorations of the intersections between human creativity and passion in a style that has come to be known as “Abstract Sensualism.”
Known as “The Father of Abstract Sensualism”, DeRubeis holds the title as one of the highest selling and most sought after artists of all time. Collectors, galleries, and dealers alike clamor for his groundbreaking art.
As yet another outlet for his creative energies, DeRubeis has turned his attention increasingly toward one of his lifelong passions--fine wine--though the magic of soil and vine goes back uncountable generations and has always been in his DNA.
Following the end of World War II, the DeRubeis family emigrated from the Italian Province of Frosinone, seeking a better life. Much like the climate of his family’s native Italy, DeRubeis would find the microclimate of California perfect for making world-class wine as others have before him.
